The events of the past couple of weeks have been pretty hard to digest and I am still not really able to put into words exactly how I feel. Mr Moo's Dad knew some of the people that passed away in the Kinglake fires and when we drove up to my parents place we had to drive along the section of the freeway that had been closed while to fires where on - just that section alone seemed like a different world - completely brown, nothing left in its path - just the complete randomness (but destructiveness) of it all.
Not only that but I have been very busy making toys for the bushfire victims and was thrilled when I could drop them. I know that they will find loving homes and I really hope that it brings some smiles to some little faces! There are some of my favorites toys in here that I always enjoy making and a couple of newies.
This one (to the left) was going to be a present for my 9 year old niece but I know that she will love the fact that it will make another little girl or boy happy. I am in the process of making her another.
I have somehow also managed to do two toy society drops over the last 2 weeks as well which was lots of fun. Did the drops in the area where my parents live and where a grew up as a little girl.
And to add to my craftiness I have also managed to make some Brown sugar fig Jam (Yummy) - done in the microwave - amazing!!!!
Then if thats not all - I am in the process of designing a toy for a friend at work who is getting married and I want it to look bridelike! This shall be interesting.......... will let you know how I go! Somewhere amongst all this I am still mum to Mr moo and having to get on with things in life ..... I think I may be trying to distract myself from thinking some things trhough too much!

I pray!
The fires over this weekend have been scary - and unfortunately it doesnt look like its going to get better anytime soon. My emotions this weekend have been running very close to the surface as I hope that friends who live in these areas are okay and that my own parents who live in North East Victoria are hopefully spared the horror of the last few days. I also pray that my Dad is okay as he helps fight the fires in Beechworth. I pray that all the wonderful people I know that volunteer with the CFA are okay! I just pray that this will all end!
And so even as the fires are still continuing - people want to help!!! The Toy Society have started a call for donations of toys (which is Brilliant). I currently have 5 toys - that I cut out yesterday that I hope will at least bring some form of a smile to a child that lost what they had. Its not much but its something!
I really hope that this will end soon!

Drop away!
I have finally done a drop for the Toy Society with this blog in action! Yay!!!!!! Cant wait to do more!!!!
Here is my latest contribution - Ms Mabel Monkey!:
Also made a cute Hector the Giraffe for a friends baby recently - I absolutely love making hector!! One of my first efforts when I started but I just get so much enjoyment out of making him!
On the Mr Moo front - we are suffering through teething! Yuck - eye teeth!! Working 3 days also doesnt help - not sure how to conduct a professional conversation when all I can think about is having a nap! My self esteem is pretty low as had several people imply that I look like c.rap! not good!

Ive finally done it!!!
It had to happen eventually - I have finally gotten off my backside and have decided to start to blog my adventures of being a mum to my Mr Moo (who is 17 months but thinks he is much older) and also my adventures in all things crafty - well making softies, and crocheting while dabbling in a few other sewing related activities.
I have been promising my great mate and fellow crafter sadieandlance that I would eventually get into the blogging thing and I definitely thank her for all her support in convincing me to start my blog. The other things that I have also been wanting to drop more toys for the infamous Toy Society and have felt slightly shameful when I haven't been able to put my name to my creations - not anymore!!!!!
So - here I am - more detail about myself to follow (I do have to start somewhere) but have attached a couple of sofites that I have made.
The giraffe was one of the first things I ever made for Mr Moo and it is still one of my favorite things to make!!
The little red muscle man was made as part of mr Moos first birthday - I made a whole heap and instead of lollies etc given to each child after the party - they got a little muscle man instead!!
